ONE LITTLE WORD Feb 1, 2012 Blog Hop

Welcome to the February One Little Word Blog Hop hosted by Margie from Nihao, Cupcake!

You should have arrived from Life Behind the Purple Door.

I’ve done very little with my word in January. At the start of the year, I was very into the project but as the month progressed, it just got put to the side. I looked up my word’s definition, thesaurus entry, and found a quote with my word. That’s it. I took a self-portrait, but it did not turn out like I hoped. I still plan to do this for January, it will just take place in a different month. I think I will be more of a compiler for a couple of months and then become an assembler. I am doing this whole project in a DIY-style so I just need more stuff before I begin organizing. I don’t think that each month will have it’s own page, but there might be some combining of months.

I’ve been thinking a lot about my word, but am still unsure about how to focus on the word. Well, here is what I’ve created so far:

Next up is orange gearle.

  • Glad you’re part of the blog hop – we all work in different ways and its always good to see other’s processes.  Creativity is never on a timetable.

  • Rbkhandco

Enjoy your journey, no pressures just creative fun, thanks for joining us and not letting the fact that you haven’t finished stop you!

  • Cynthia Crysdale

I so appreciate your honesty and being just where you are.  I love Ali so much because she always talks about allowing yourself to be, no judgement or pressure.  I can’t wait to how this evolves for you.  Good luck in your journey of finding.

  • Thanks. I have a feeling most of the monthly prompts will be spread out over the year instead of just the month.

  • Thanks! I almost backed out of this hop, but felt I should go ahead and share my lack of progress.

  • Thanks. What a cute photo. 🙂

  • MonicaB

That’s the beauty of OLW and Ali’s class. No pressure. Your word will speak too you during some months and not others…it’s all good. So glad you joined in the hop.

  • Lisa

I was in the exact same position last year, and didn’t actually complete a page until March. You’ll do it when it’s the right time for you! Your e.e. cummings quote is one of my all-time favorites. Hope you hop again next month 🙂

  • LearnCreateDo

As everyone else said there is no pressure with OLW. It’s still great to see you on the hop. 🙂

  • Jenifer Locke

i am so glad that you decided to share with us this month, stephanie. i had plenty of moments last year that i didn’t show a completed project but some of my favorite posts were ones in which i focused on sharing my thoughts on the word itself, the journey and less on my completed projects. i like that you are customizing your olw album. can’t wait to see what the year brings for you. xoxo

  • Missuswookie

I hear you on the collecting and then assembling stages, I did that last year and still haven’t put together December’s! Nice to see what you’ve done tho’.

  • Thanks!

  • Thanks! I plan to join in next month, too. Even I do very little, the hop helps keep me somewhat focused on the project.

  • Thanks!

  • Thanks! I think that is part of my problem is the customization. I think once I get another month or two done, then I’ll have a better idea as to how to proceed with organizing it.

  • Thanks!

  • Jan B

I’m gathering from your cards that your word is “grow”? That’s a great word and I’m so glad you’re participating in the hop. Hope your word brings you all you hope for – and more! Hang in there! Blessings on the journey…

  • Hi Stephanie, I’m glad you joined in. It is all about sharing where we are in the OLW journey/class and that is where you are! I love that you are doing it in a way that is working for you. I look forward to seeing the evolution of your OLW projects. It’s always nice to stop by! 🙂

  • Thank you!

  • Yes. I suppose I should have made that clear. Sorry. 🙂

  • Kaylea Hutson

    Good luck with your journey….
Blessings as you unpack it and explore how it fits in your world.
May you grow as a person this year because of it!
Thanks for your honesty btw… I am struggling this month with my word – so I totally understand.

  • Thanks for commenting.
